When you purchase HIARCS Chess Explorer you will be sent an email with a download link where you can download the HIARCS Chess Explorer installer. To download the HIARCS Chess Explorer Installer please click on the link you were sent immediately after purchase. On Windows XP you will then see a dialog like this:
If you select Run the HIARCS Chess Explorer Installer will be downloaded and then executed. Alternatively you can save it locally to your computer and run it later. If you do save the installer instead of running it, then please make a note of where you saved it so you can run it later Simply double click the saved setupHIARCSChessExplorer file to start the installer.
On Vista, Windows 7 after downloading the installer the dialog will look like this. Please note the verified publisher is "Applied Computer Concepts Ltd.", do not trust the download if it is not signed by "Applied Computer Concepts Ltd."
Once you run the installer you will see this dialog:
Before you can install HIARCS Chess Explorer you will need to accept the terms of the End User License Agreement.
In the next dialog you will have the choice to create a desktop icon which will appear on your desktop and make launching HIARCS Chess Explorer easier.
You will then be given a dialog which simply asks you to click the Install button to install HIARCS Chess Explorer. Click this button and installation will begin, you will see the installation progress:
Once the installer is complete you will get the following dialog confirming successful installation and giving you the option to launch HIARCS Chess Explorer.
HIARCS Chess Explorer is now installed on your computer.
With "Launch HIARCS Chess Explorer" checked, clicking Finish will automatically launch the product.

HIARCS Chess Explorer offers specially weakened levels with new enhanced play realism for weaker players. These levels start from a complete novice/beginner at 750 Elo and should be suitable for even players who have just learnt the moves. It has all the strengths of opponent from that beginner stage all the way through the different standards including novice, hobby, club, team, strong club, expert, master, International Master, Grandmaster and beyond.
Theses handicap levels and opponents have had significant new work done on them to improve the realism of the play and provide interesting opponents to play against and improve.
During play against these opponents the integrated coach pays particular attention and is able to offer advice and point out missed opportunities and mistakes to help you improve.
